ABOUT TRAINER - Mirna Šmidt
Hi,
my name is Mirna and it is a pleasure to meet you here.
I will be happy to welcome you on this workshop to share with you many intriguing ways of practicing and exploring more mindful living and more enjoyment in the moment, all supported with findings from positive psychology - the science of happiness.
I am a professional and interpersonal skills trainer since 2008, am actively focusing on positive psychology since 2009 and coach since 2011. Among long list of other educations, I hold a Master in Applied Positive Psychology from Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge. The journey of life and training led me to many discoveries that significantly impacted my levels of happiness and mindfulness - and I would love to share some of these findings with you. I enjoy delivering trainings and even after all these years, still nothing excites me more then when participants make a new personal discovery - and I believe this workshop is a great place for such discoveries.
"The Art of Mindfulness in Everyday Life" is based on my own long journey of exploring mindfulness and discovering the joy of mindful living. And trust me, I had a challenging start. I tend to be very energetic and hyperactive, a person who is always doing million things and chases million activities, hobbies, goals. At the same time, I am very futuristic - always developing new plans for future, with passion for creating visions, plans, bucket lists. My character and habits, in a combination with today's quick-paced world, made it very challenging for me to develop the side of me that is more mindful, present, that fully enjoys the moment and breaths with full lungs - and in a way, it is a never-ending journey to keep on growing in this aspect. My journey took me through two Vipassana retreats - very strict 10-days silent meditation retreats - first of which six years ago, then to MBSR - Mindfulness-based stress reduction 8-week long science based course on mindfulness, through several 6-8 weeks long University courses on Mindfulness, and a long list of diverse mindfulness challenges and experiments. It all lead me to develop and explore set of my own personal practices, that bring mindfulness in my life in a way that suits best with my personality and lifestyle. I would love to invite you to use this workshop as a stepping stone towards exploring and developing your own personal style of mindfulness.
My journey of exploring mindfulness, even if long and curvy, was one of the most enjoyable and life changing experiences of my life. That is exactly why I wish to share some of the steps with you, in a practical and interactive way, in this workshop.
